Edge Set Mary

" Rare is it to find a 'new' band that has the energetic thrust and raw grungy american sound that is familiar to the early 90's grunge movement emerging through the great revived metal scene and emo dross these days. Finding a New Orleans band that reflects that very sound and era is like finding a Pearl in the Oyster. This threesome has a hard edge sound that cons you into thinking there are five or six of them. The taste of these gritty, bourbon gussling rockers lures you in like a pretty mermaid on the rocky shores of a haunted un-charted island. I for one am totally hooked, ESM are so "up my street" with this rock genre that their practically parked in my driveway!

Reminiscent of early Soundgarden and Helmet. As raw and bloody as Scissorfight and Atomic Bitchwax, these deep-fried southern wizards are fierce, be warned! This ain't no post-grunge, accept no substitutes, this is the real deal. With 'Dall' axe grinding and 'Mat' blues-tone bass slapping, it only leaves the maestro conductor, 'Chris' to finish off this masterful trio. The new "Dave Grohl" exemplifies his commitment on drums and retro vocal styles with ease. 'White Faucet' and 'Cloudface' being their current showpiece tunes posted on their myspace page demonstrating my enthusiasm for this band. I for one can't wait to get my grubby hands on their last two albums, "Volume I" and "Volume II" respective. Not to mention their forthcoming album, "Volume III". Check them out people. Great Stuff."....Myspace Rock Muso, G-Man

"Storming out of Louisiana, USA, Edge Set Mary are a hard rocking outfit in the Sound Garden mode of things… impressive monster guitars and searing vocals dominate their sound, giving them balls and teeth where other bands have hands and feet. A Three piece outfit with a singing drummer, they really do hark back to the early nineties when sheer power was pouring out of rock music, with little regard for convention. It s welcome return as well, as they are technically adept and tight and White Faucet is a total rocker of a song."......music journalist Dave Chislett for Matchbox Recordings

"EDGE SET MARY bring back memories of the hard hitting alternative rock and grunge sounds of bands like Soundgarden, yet this band is heavier and harder hitting. Songs like "White Faucet" will provide you with Chris Cornell versus Layne Staley like vocals, (rough and edgy yet meaty), and electrically charged instrumentation with dynamic guitars and drum patterns. "Cloudface" on the other hand takes the music down a notch to something a bit more melodic but maintains it's heaviness through it's ass-kicking riffs breaking out a quarter of the way through the song. "Home" being the last track provided to listen to, combines elements of "White Faucet" and "Cloudface" with a harder rocking edge and sounding like Pearl Jam meeting Rage Against The Machine in a battle of the guitars."
